RHR SAFAR

Breeding information ~~ Additional Photos ~~ RHR Safar Main

The black, straight Egyptian stallion, RHR Safar, was foaled in 1998.  His sire, Thee Desperado (The Minstril x AK Amiri Asmarr), needs no introduction to the Arabian world.

RHR Safar's sire ...

...Thee Desperado and his sire were US and Canadian top ten stallions in 1993.  After many more successful show ring appearances, he was Region IX Champion stallion, Egyptian Event Junior Champion, and the unanimous Scottsdale Champion and Reserve US National Champion in 1994.  This outstanding stallion has sired champions that now reside all over the world has been the leading Halter sire at the Egyptian Event for six consecutive years and, for the last two years, has been the leading sire of performance horses.

Thee Desperado's sire...

,,,The Minstril, has also ruled the roost for many years as a leading sire of numerous champions both here and abroad. He is by the incredible Ruminaja Ali (Shaikh Al Badi x Bint Magidaa), 1979 US National Futurity Champion. His dam, Bint Magidaa (*Kofo x *Magidaa), has been one of the most amazing dams in recent years, producing one champion after another.  Both her parents were imported from Egypt.

Thee Desperado's dam...

...AK Amiri Asmarr (The Egyptian Prince x Asmarr), was a Junior Champion herself and went on to produce many outstanding foals for owner/breeder Tom and Martha Salome.  The Egyptian Prince, (*Morafic x *Bint Mona), was a well known producer of outstanding brood mares. *Asmarr (*Zaghoul x Nagliah) goes back to great horses bred at EAO and RAS.

RHR Safar's dam ...

... is the incredibly beautiful Chelima by Haziz Halim (Ansata Ibn Halima x Serenity Shahabi). I first saw her as a two year old in Oregon while on a consulting trip. Having sold her younger full sister, Maria Halim, to photographer Erwin Escher in Germany-where she has proceeded to produce no less than four outstanding champion fillies by the straight Egyption stallion Madallan-Madheen-I was fully aware of Chelima's potential and recommended to Nancy Wight that she purchase her.

This she did and bred her to Thee Desperado for her first foal.  The result was RHR Safar.  He has turned out to be an outstanding stallion and is already a halter champion and has sired some very promising foals. With this kind of pedigree it's hardly surprising.

Chelima's sire...

...Haziz Halim a black, 15.2 stallion, is by the legendary imported stallion *Ansata Ibn Halima (Nazeer x Halima) whose influence is very much in evidence today. His grandson, Al Adeed Al Shaqab has just become 2002 World Champion in Paris. Haziz Halim's dam Serenity Sharabi (Serenity Osiris x *Serenity Shahra) comes from the famous farm of Hansi Heck, well known for producing excellent performance Straight Egyptians.  Haziz Halim has not only produced many Halter Champions, but Performance Champions as well, as he himself was a Performance Champion.

Chelima's dam...

...the black Chelsea (The Minstril x Muneera), has also been a great producer, her dam Muneera imported from Germany, was by the wonderful talented and athletic stallion Talal (Mohafez x Taghreed). Muneera's dam line goes back on the tail female line to the mare Mabrouka.

With this great, straight Egyptian pedigree containing so many outstanding horses and with numerous crosses back to Nazeer, it's no wonder that the foals of RHR Safar are beginning to reflect his pedigree. He has a gorgeous, dished head with big eyes, a lovely front, with a good slope of shoulder and length of neck, a level topline, straight legs, and good feet.  His hip is of excellent length and he has great, free movement and tail carriage.  It seems certain that he will enjoy a wonderful future in the breeding barn.  He is sweepstakes nominated, and there is a filly incentive as well as a live foal guarantee.
